Drivers Education Training Program
Customized 4-hour driver’s education course for secondary students, covering:
o The local driving landscape
o Cayman Islands driving laws
o Basic vehicle maintenance
o Safe driving techniques
o Dangers of driving under the influence (alcohol/drugs)
Customized 3-hour adult driver’s education course, addressing:
o Proper driving techniques and defensive driving
o Cayman Islands driving laws
o Dangers of impaired driving
Nine (9) hours of simulation training over two days for both student and adult participants.
o Each participant must meet proficiency standards to complete the training.
Cohort structure:
o Each course will accommodate a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of ten (10) participants.
A standardized written test has been developed for all participants.
o A passing grade of 80% is recommended.
A draft Certificate of Completion for DETP participants has been prepared.
